SCOTTLAND have not lost a Castle Lager Premiership game in the last SIX months.
The champions’ last defeat came at Rufaro on August 30, last year, when they went down 2-3 to Dynamos in a thriller that was the Game of the Season.
Denver Mukamba’s spectacular volley settled the five-goal thriller.
Since then, the champions have won five and drawn three of the eight league matches they have played.
Today, at Rufaro, that eight-game unbeaten run will be tested by Ngezi Platinum.
Ironically, the 2023 champions beat Scottland at Rufaro last year before Mabviravira made up for that loss with a win at Baobab.
Norman Mapeza’s men, who were impressive in the only game they have played at Rufaro this year when they thrashed Dynamos 5-0 in the Castle Challenge Cup, settled for a point in their opening match against Hardrock in Kwekwe on Saturday.
Ngezi Platinum started their campaign with a comeback win when they beat FC Platinum 2-1 at Baobab.
Mapeza’s Dream Team might have displayed its full attacking strength by scoring five goals against DeMbare but seasoned observers always felt that it would take time for them to click.
They created some good chances against Hardrock but they kept fluffing their lines.
Ngezi showed in their win over FC Platinum that they have character and they will be buoyed by history when they take onto the field at Rufaro today.
